Smart with Hayabusa motor is crazy

If you haven't seen these little smart cars your probably hiding under a rock. We have a friend that has one. I told my friend, if I hit one of these in my truck it will be nothing more than a speed bump. He said, have you seen the smart with the Hayabusa motor? Hayabusa motor in what!?

This is a crazy setup. A Hayabusa motor with approaching 200 horse power in a super light car. Wait till you see this video, they're doing donuts, drifting and power slides in these little cars.

It was a great engineering feet getting these hayabusa motors in these little cars. I bet it's a lot fun to drive now.

Hayabusa Power Commanders – take command

One key application that we consider a must have for any Hayabusa motorcycle owner is a power commander. Having a power commander unit installed on your bike gives you all the important information regarding the fuel and ignition curve. Power commanders are fairly inexpensive and quintessentially easily installed. Hayabusa power commanders also come with all the wiring you will need to install the application. In most instances you will need to link up the power commander with your own personal computer to receive the critical data and interact properly. Although it is recommended you have a computer to work with, some power commanders, such as ones produced by DynoJet, will allow your to interpret and change settings using a series of buttons found directly on the unit.

Power commanders essentially plug right into your hayabusa wiring harness. They allow you to interpret the fuel injection and ignition, as well as map new configurations for almost any modification you add to your bike’s engine. Power commanders help you get the maximum benefit out of any after market application installed for engine performance upgrade purposes. Power commanders also come with many different options, such as LCD screens or custom buttons right on the unit to make quick, on the fly adjustments.

Nitrous Oxide has long been a tool used by the masses to gain increased performances in both cars and motorcycles. A question many ponder when planning to buy a nitrous kit for a Hayabusa is, how does it work? Nitrous Oxide kits are made to increase horsepower and torque, but for short periods of time, unlike turbochargers which generally carry a consistent increase in performance. When you utilize a nitrous kit, it is not nitrous oxide going into the engine, the nitrous is heated to a specific temperature, then released. Once the nitrous oxide reaches approximately 570 degrees Fahrenheit, it splits into nitrogen and oxygen. By increasing the amount of oxygen flowing into the engine, you increased the amount of fuel to be passed to the engine within a given time frame. This, in turn, increases the amount of horsepower you are able to attain.

Another benefit of installing nitrous on a Hayabusa concerns the air intake. When nitrous oxide evaporates, it has somewhat of a cooling effect on the air intake. Cooling the air intake is beneficial because with cooler air has a higher density than that of hot air. Custom Exhaust systems for Hayabusa Motorcycles

Adding a custom exhaust system to the Hayabusa motorcycle has a couple different benefits. Exhaust systems can increase performance, as well as add great aesthetic appeal to your bike. Hayabusa exhaust systems can be installed with a pretty wide selection of exhaust pipes and tips. The exhaust tip you choose will vary based on the particular sound you are looking for your exhaust to produce. A lot of riders like to go for a higher octave, especially when installing these components on a Hayabusa. Other like to go for a deeper, more mellow tone to the exhaust.
Upgrading a Hayabusa exhaust system is also beneficial to the bike’s overall performance. If your motorcycle has a jittery idle, installing a new exhaust systems will most likely cure the problem. Hayabusa riders have also brought a problem similar to the jittery idle to the table. When accelerating from the line, some Hayabusa owners have noticed a bogging, or lag in the exhaust sound. This can be described as a “stutter” as well. Replacing the piping in the exhaust system should also fix this problem. Although, if the problem is not solved with replacing the exhaust system for the Hayabusa, it is suggested you visit a motorcycle to evaluate the issue

Hayabusa Gen 1 vs Gen 2

Many people wonder what the difference between the original Hayabusa and the new Gen 2 or 2008 Hayabusa really is. One of the most obvious is the increased displacement from 1299cc vs 1340cc and the compression ratio is up to 12.5 instead of 11.

Body style has changed a bit giving it a new look and dimensionally it has also changed slightly. Many had a love / hate relationship with the looks of this bike. The more you get to know it, the better you'll like it.

The S-DMS or drive mode switch has been much talked about. This changes the computer to one of 3 modes. It basically retards the timing slightly. In the three different modes. It reduces the power the bike makes and is perfect for new riders or ridding in the rain where you might need a bit better traction.

The S-DMS mode switch eventually will not get used much once you get used to the bike unless you get caught in the rain. It's an interesting novelty but will not be used much after the rider gets a little experience on the bike. There are more changes and you can look up the specs for each bike to review them in detail. However, this is it in a nutshell.

The Gen1 Hayabusa was rated at 178hp and the new 2008 Hayabusa Gen 2 is rated at 197hp. This is a crap load of horsepower. With a few minor mods, you can get into the high 170hp at the rear wheel. If there was ever a bike you better hold on when you crack it, this is it. You need to be careful with first gear WOT. You may have to feather the clutch to keep the front down or back off a bit. Once you start modding, second gear also lifts pretty easily. If this still isn't enough, the Hayabusa Turbo is an option for you. Many of them are producing over 400hp.

Hayabusa Symbol, what is it?

Many people wonder what the symbol is on the side of the Hayabusa bike. This symbol is called the Kanji. The symbol means hayato or hayabusa meaning approximating to strong and fast.

The name comes from a Peregrine falcon that can travel about 300km per hour in a dive. The designer of the bike came up with the name while walking on a beach and seeing this majestic bird. Some say this is why the front of the bike looks like a falcon.

The Hayabusa name has been used on many other Japanese items. For example a WWII Japanese aircraft, a Japanese space probe and a very fast Japanese train was also called Hayabusa.

The Hayabusa was launched in 1999 and the rest is history.
